FAQ

Is Amharic hard to learn?

The grammar is regular once you see the patterns, and the method builds listening and speaking first — the parts you'll actually use.

Do I need to learn the Ge'ez script?

You don't start there. Reading and writing begins after a few weeks of listening and speaking, once your ear knows the sounds — which makes the script much easier to pick up.

How long until I can hold a conversation?

After Phase 1 (~100 hours): basic conversations. After Phase 2 (250 hours total): you'll speak well.

Are lessons 1:1 or in groups?

Both. Most students start 1:1; group classes work if you're learning with family, colleagues, or friends.

Where do in-person lessons take place?

Addis Ababa, or by arrangement if you're visiting Ethiopia. Remote lessons are available worldwide.

What are the rates?

Rates depend on the course type, phase, and schedule — and where you're based. Contact Suratu for a quote.
